European Contest – Pécs 2010
Non-profit music competitions from all European Countries* can apply for participation in the 1st European local heroes contest 2010 in Pécs (Hungary) and send the winner of their interregional or national contention.
The band represents it´s country of origin and will compete with other participants for the title of „local heroes europe 2010“.
Only non-commercial competitions which promote newcomer bands in popular music from the European countries listed below can apply for participation. If the applying contest is not represented nationwide in its country of origin, then the organisers have to evidence in their applications that they are as an interregional competition aiming enlargement. The applicants have to share aims of local heroes and develop young music as a promotion of young people´s culture and international understanding.
If at the time of local heroes contest in Pécs 2010 the applying music contest is still in its own selection procedure for 2010, then the winner band from the previous year (2009) can be sent.
The members of the winner band who will be sent to Pécs 2010 have to be newcomer. Bands making all styles of popular music can enter the contest. The bands which already signed a record contract with a major label before January 2010 are not allowed to enter. Song lyrics with nationalistic, fascistic and other inhuman contents are excluded.
Most likely the costs for arrival/departure to local heroes contest in Pécs will not be taken over by local heroes contest in Pécs.
Application policy:
Applications have to be sent by e-mail as a pdf file in English or German to Europe-Bureau of local heroes:
europe-contest [at] local-heroes.info
Application must contain:
- Letter of motivation for application (max. 1 A-4 page)
- Description of competition activities up to now (max. 1 A-4 page): description of projects, history etc.
- Mission statement (Bylaw) of own competition.
- Participation conditions for newcomer bands in competition.
Closing date for applications: the applications must arrive at the Bureau of local heroes as a pdf file before December 15, 2009 12 pm.
Accepted competitions will be announced on the 3d of January 2010 at the latest.
Countries where local heroes already exist do not have to apply for participation. These countries are Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy.
